
Claudio Di Meo
Claudio Di Meo is an award-winning Conductor, Pianist and Composer.
Winner of the 'International Conducting Competition Westminster London 2018' with the London Classical Soloists, Di Meo has found previous acclaim for his work as Musical Director, Pianist and Accompanist including 'Best accompanist of the year' in the Ottorino Respighi Conservatory (Italy), 2012, and the 'International Award Enrico Caruso' (Piano), 2014.
On the concert platform, Claudio has worked with numerous instrumentalists and singers including Nicholas Korth (Co-principal Horn BBC Symphony Orchestra), Olivia Robinson (BBC Singers), Federico Vozzella (Leader, Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI), Selena Markson (Co-principal Clarinet of Göteborgs Symfoniker), Hans Adler (Principal double bass of the Göteborgs Symfoniker), Susanna Candlin (Co-leader, London Mozart Players) and Debbie Grundmann (Soprano of the Royal Opera House Chorus).
From 2013 he has toured regularly, including Russia (290th Anniversary of the City of Ekaterinburg), Cyprus (Lefkosa International Festival), Hungary (Olasz Vendegk.chorus Concert Hall, Budapest), Sri Lanka (A New Direction International Performing Arts Festival, Colombo), Mexico (Festival de las Almas, Valle de Bravo), Singapore (Maria Callas, Esplanade Theatre), USA (2014 New Year Concert, St. John the Divine Cathedral, New York), India (International Arts Festival, New Delhi), Germany (Richard Wagner Vs Giuseppe Verdi, Deutsch ltalienisches Kulturinstitut), Lebanon (Al Bustan Festival, Beirut) and Chile (Antofagasta New Year's Eve Concert, Antofagasta).
Highlights within the 2017/18 season included a production of Maria Callas the Black Pearl in which Claudio was the Musical Director and Composer in a series of performances that premiered at the prestigious Esplanade Theatre in Singapore and consequently at the Grange Park Opera in the UK, going on to receive an Award from the Governor of the State of Mexico and the Director of the National Conservatory in Mexico City for 'The merit, the work done and the continued spread of the Italian film music in the world'.
He has recorded CDs produced by Ibimus and IGS. Consisting of recordings of Ravel’s Ma mere l'Oye and Debussy’s Six Epigraphes Antiques. Also a collection of 10 pieces for Piano solo Memories and Oceano di cielo, composed by Claudio Di Meo himself.
In September 2015 Claudio was appointed Principal Conductor of the Dacorum Orchestra in Hertfordshire. He conducts the Lumina Choir, United Kingdom. He has also given seminars and master-classes in Conducting.
